Since the early 1980’s, whenever the City requires its historical-cultural monuments cleaned free of graffiti – whether during periods of civil disobedience or senseless tagging – and they can not handle it internally, WMS is the ONLY SPECIALTY CONTRACTOR called upon to perform this delicate work.

Los Angeles is the unofficial “Mural Capital of America” and if the mural was City-sanctioned, there is a high probability that WMS applied the permanent anti-graffiti coating and delicately removes tags from its surface. Working hand-in-hand with the artists and cities since 1997, keeping the artwork protected and aesthetically pleasing is the sole responsibility of our unrivaled WMS graffiti technicians.
Democratic National Convention
Democratic National Convention
Special preparations were required for the 2000 Democratic National Convention, and WMS enacted civic pride through our pressure washing and graffiti removal, with services offered 24/7. This project required we be stationed onsite to eradicate any vandalism that could sully the foundations of democratic civility, and WMS ensured that the media images presented to the rest of the world were unblemished by vulgarities.

Proving time and again that WMS can fulfill various exterior maintenance needs through our municipal knowledge, technical skills, and superior service model, we serviced every state-owned thoroughfare, highway, and freeway throughout LA County to repair the Emergency Call Boxes. Back when these were the only lifelines for stranded motorists, we were committed to enhancing public safety by ensuring all 6,000+ call boxes were clean, safe and working for public use.

Carmageddon 2011 was a MASSIVE multi-agency project. Our stellar support work and safety-sensitivity on this project led to a trusted partnership on the Foothill extension program for graffiti and trash/debris removal.

The Hyperion Treatment Plant plays a major role in treating and managing the city’s wastewater. Our teams lead the pressure washing of the sewage treatment areas, helping keep their environmental and health standards up to par.

Our largest civic partner, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is the key organization in regional public transportation; they operate buses, light rails, and subway lines, as one of the most high-profile agencies in the region. A key component of LA County’s watershed environmental and safety plans, WMS provided comprehensive trash removal support for decades in the flood control channels that drain directly into the Pacific ocean. As the latest addition to our homeless encampment clean-ups, we keep their suburban and rural areas clean, working hand-in-glove with City staff.

But with the unique terrain of the Santa Susana and San Gabriel mountain ranges and the large floodplain of the Santa Clara river, WMS designs work plans to address the specific needs of each landscape and community in which we work, to finish the job safely and efficiently.

What began as a long-term service of on-call graffiti removal from the interior and exteriors of LAPL facilities, took on a whole new dimension during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. When these facilities were closed and all employees sent home, a comprehensive caretaking plan was needed. WMS partnered with the LAPL to provide survey and reporting on all 73 branches, every week across the entire City, monitoring all maintenance issues encountered on the facility grounds. With our vast regional presence and diversity of competencies, providing these services with near zero turn-around time for a valuable partner was the level of service we provide as a trusted contractor.

Westwood is home to many students/faculty of UCLA, museums, and a vibrant nightlife. Exterior maintenance services were provided by a Business Improvements District, but in 1991 WMS took over the nightly pressure washing and trash removal throughout the area.

When the County could not keep up with the continued increase in illegal dumping on rural County roads, WMS contracted to provide these routine services and alleviate the burden on their small department.

A key government and administrative hub, located in the Van Nuys neighborhood, offers a variety of services to residents. Since the early 1990’s we provided pressure washing and graffiti removal services for their government offices, court facilities, community services, and all public access areas.

A small city with diverse community needs, we support their public works team with pressure washing main streets and city hall, ensure graffiti is removed quickly from private and commercial properties, and we collaborate to find a “right-sized” solution.

Starting in the 1990’s on the Main Library, pressure washing and maintaining it free of graffiti, lead us to assist all LA libraries when hit with the pandemic of Covid-19. That level of trust and confidence is what we always strive to achieve.

The Las Vegas Strip beckons tourists to enjoy the various attractions offered by each hotel and the vibrant nightlife. While most of the excitement happens indoors, our focus was to clean and maintain The Strip free of graffiti, trash and debris. Without inconveniencing the high activity public right-of-way, this contract was a true test of our technicians and our strategic abilities, maintaining a zero accident record while on the job.

In the early 2000’s, WMS expanded our top-tier service outside of California. In Austin, Texas we led the implementation of a “zero tolerance graffiti” program and trained City departments on how this program should be managed. We were tasked with the eradication of graffiti from all of the public parks, maintaining the surfaces vandal-free, and creating a comprehensive report of incidents, removals, time, and expense for the city. Through our stewardship, direction and communication, Austin took these services in-house using the fundamentals of our unparalleled service model.
